About the Role
1. Assist production team for process deliveries by creating procedures, jobs, etc,
2. Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise and fix the same.
3. Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.
4. Ensuring that the database is consistently backed up and able to be recovered in the event of any disaster.
5. Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.
6. Develop processes for optimizing database security.
7. Audit the databases regularly and involve in optimization activities.
8. Suggesting changes and improvements for maintenance or protection.
9. Regularly liaising with IT project managers and production team to ensure database security and optimization.
10. Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
11. Managing user permissions and access.
Requirements
Must have
SQL/ETL knowledge
Should have
Knowledge in MySQL, PostgreSQL
Exposure to Metadata management
Knowledge in Data modelling concepts
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in CS/IS/IT or relevant experience
Qualification Criteria and other Skills
2+ years of experience as a DB Engineer to support project deliveries
Cloud knowledge will be an added advantage
